Empowering Learners Through the Engineering and Design Process
Experience the engineering and design process as completed with limited supplies and resources. You will get the opportunity to learn how to use iPads as a tool to document the steps of the engineering and design process. Strategies shared will be connected to the NGSS and applicable to any learner who has limited resources but access to technology. Through communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity, participants will be able to empower all learners to think about problems from the perspective of an engineer.

Hooked on Engineering- Engaging Middle School Students with Engineering Practices Through Project Based Learning
This session is geared to science educators who want to use projectbased learning and the engineering process to hook kids into learningthrough building, designing, and testing their products. This type oflearning builds on student knowledge and experience, fosterscooperation and teamwork, allows all students to successfullycontribute. The session will showcase 3 Engineering Projects- eachwith a focus on MS physics but that also embed other NGSS strands:Roller Coasters, Car Bumpers and Asteroid Deflection. These projectswill help your class room be a fun place for learning!
